SHOW HOST – MICHAEL MAHANY

 
michael-mahany-smallerMichael is the host of a new television program entitled “To The Stage” on  Dance Network. The show will feature some of America’s best high school show choirs in a format that features the students, their teachers, and the performances that win them championships.
 

Originally from the beaches of Southern California, Michael began his study of theatre with his mentors Roy Diaz and John Wirtz. While attending El Modena High School in Orange County, California, Michael was in show choir himself! After high school, Michael moved to Boston, MA to begin studying theatre full time. Upon completion, he graduated cum laude from The Boston Conservatory of Music with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, and an emphasis in Acting. After moving to New York City, he originated the role of Tom in Bill Russell’s Mister Fabulous. Michael joined Actors’ Equity Association in 2006 when he began work in the original Off-Broadway company of the hit musical Spring Awakening, with The Atlantic Theatre Company. He originated the role of Jack Scott in the world premiere production of Disney’s High School Musical with Atlanta Theatre of the Stars at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, directed by Jeff Calhoun. He then toured the United States and parts of Canada with the Disney Theatrical Production’s First National Tour of Disney’s High School Musical.

 
In 2010 Michael made his feature film debut in Sex and The City 2. Most recently, Michael toured the US with First National touring company in Wicked. Michael also works very closely with two charitable organizations: The Educational Theatre Association and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. His sister, Jana Mahany, is an actress based in Los Angeles. He currently lives in New York with his wife, performer Sara Andreas.
 
While traveling coast to coast hosting the “To The Stage” television series, Michael is excited about meeting show choir members and directors throughout America!
